Op 13 juni jl. werd Fire-Up International BV getroffen door een brand in het magazijn. Na deze brand is Fire-Up International BV direct gestart om diverse processen te bekijken en waar nodig te verbeteren.

Wij geven u graag een update van hetgeen wij op dit moment al met u kunnen delen.

Containers

Er staan containers in de straat die gevuld zijn met het bluswater dat gebruikt is bij het blussen van de brand. De analyse van het bluswater is helaas vertraagd waardoor de containers langer zijn blijven staan, dan door ons kon worden voorzien. Wij verwachten op basis van de laatste berichten binnen aanzienlijke tijd meer duidelijkheid te kunnen verschaffen.

Afzuiginstallatie

De afzuiginstallatie is inmiddels volledig in werking gesteld.

Uitkomst externe onderzoek

De externe partij die door de Gemeente Oisterwijk was ingehuurd om onderzoek te doen naar de oorzaak en de gang van zaken tijdens de brand van 13 juni jl. heeft het onderzoek afgerond. Uit dat onderzoek zijn een aantal belangrijker conclusies naar voren gekomen.

- Fire-Up International BV heeft, zoals verwacht, gewerkt volgens de geldende wet- en regelgeving en voldeed volledig aan de eisen die aan de vergunningen werden gesteld. De door een externe partij in het magazijn aangebrachte schuimblusinstallatie blijkt niet goed gewerkt te hebben. Uit onderzoek blijkt dat een cruciaal onderdeel van de installatie heeft gefaald, als gevolg waarvan het magazijn slechts met een minimale hoeveelheid schuim gevuld kon worden.

Uit onderzoek zijn een aantal aanbevelingen naar voren gekomen voor diverse partijen. Fire-Up International BV neemt de aan haar gerichte aanbevelingen over en gaat hiermee, voor zover dat nog niet is gebeurd, aan de slag. Bovendien doen wij zelf ook nader onderzoek naar het ontstaan van de brand en op welke wijze de veiligheid verder kan worden verbeterd.

     On June 13, Fire-Up International BV was hit by a fire in its warehouse. Following this fire, Fire-Up International BV immediately started to review various processes and improve where necessary.

     We would like to give you an update on what we can already share with you at this time.

Containers

     There are containers in the street filled with the extinguishing water that was used in extinguishing the fire. Unfortunately, the analysis of the fire extinguishing water has been delayed, causing the containers to remain in place longer than we could have anticipated. Based on the latest reports, we expect to be able to provide more clarity within a considerable time.

Exhaust system

     The extraction system is now fully operational.

Outcome of external investigation

     The external party that was hired by the Municipality of Oisterwijk to investigate the cause and the course of events during the fire of June 13 has completed its investigation. A number of more important conclusions have emerged from that investigation.

     - Fire-Up International BV, as expected, operated in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and fully complied with permit requirements. The foam extinguishing system installed in the warehouse by an outside party was found to have malfunctioned. Investigation revealed that a critical component of the system failed, as a result of which the warehouse could only be filled with a minimal amount of foam.

     The investigation revealed a number of recommendations for various parties. Fire-Up International BV is adopting the recommendations addressed to it and, in so far as it has not already done so, will start working on them. Moreover, we are also conducting further investigation into the origin of the fire and how safety can be further improved.
